Yes, I would interested in obtaining an Addressing Professional Certification because it would help cultivate best practices from many jurisdictions and create a profession that would have a voice that would stand with other groups such as NENA to help shape the addressing world.

Yes, I'd do it in a heartbeat. Addresses are the heartbeat of service delivery of all kinds. Their assignment and maintenance requires care, attention and consistency. Every day I work with people who are tasked with assigning and maintaining addresses without training of any kind, often under difficult conditions. I've met a secretary assigned to maintain the addresses between phone calls. I think a certification would spotlight the need for training, and highlight the importance of the field.

Yes, I feel it would allow us to have more standing with the outside world. I would love to see Google and other site recognize it and allow for faster updates to their sometimes poor data. The certification would also keep the standards the same from county to county which would help with the future of 911. Never thought addressing had so many details to it until it was my job. Those from the outside don't understand.

Those from the outside don't understand. 100% Agree! I almost wish it was a requirement to obtain the certification within a certain amount of time for those public officials charged with Addressing in their County and Municipalities. I deal with muni's almost everyday that have NO idea what they are doing when it comes to addressing. Most will listen to your advice and then there are a couple that do whatever they want regardless if it makes any sense or works for our systems. Unfortunately we do not have jurisdiction over these towns so we just have to accept what they give us....It is very frustrating. Save

yes ...it would be great to standardize addressing across the area so that developers and citizens have the same systems to obtain an address
